BIG SCREEN STYLE
Before she was freeing women from corsets and slipping them into free flowing jersey suits, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel could be found performing in a Vichy nightclub. Billed as “Coco,” short for cocotte, the French word for “kept woman”, she desperately tried to sing through the din created by her drunken audience.
Years later, Coco would use her leverage as a cocotte to plant the seeds for history’s most influential fashion empire.
To further educate yourself in all things Chanel, join Alliance Fraincaise de Perth on June 28th at 4:45 for a screening of Coco Avant Chanel at the Windsor Cinema in Perth, Western Australia.
